Singapore is small islands in South East Asia that famous for being world finance center. Its daily cost is higher than its neighbor countries. Many backpackers are not interested going to Singapore for its price of food and accommodation are expensive. However there are still many low budget things to do in Singapore that backpackers could have.

1. Chinese and Japanese Gardens. 
These two beautiful gardens are located in Jurong East, Singapore. Chinese garden and Japanese garden is connected by a bridge called the Bridge of Double Beauty. The gardens are perfect for you to take a lazy stroll or jog in the morning and evening. Chinese garden emphasized the visual beauty and Japanese garden emphasized the relaxation and calmness of the nature. These gardens are open from 6 AM to 11 PM. 

2. Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. 
This reserve is not far from Downtown Core and located on the slope of Bukit Timah Hill. It preserves hundreds species of flora and fauna. You can stroll, jog and hike in this reserve. In fact it has several range of hiking trails. 

3. Singapore Botanic Gardens. 
It was founded in 1859 and has been honored as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can stroll around to see more than 10.000 species of flora. The botanic garden doesn’t take admission fees except for the main attraction of National Orchid Gardens. It opens from 5 AM to 12 AM every day for whole year.

4. Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum. 
It is located in Chinatown and has become the popular attraction of Chinatown. Its architecture is based on art culture of Buddhism in Tang Dynasty. Some says that it has Buddha’s tooth hence the name of Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum. It opens every day from 7 AM to 7 PM and no admission fees.

5. Sri Mariamman Temple. 
It is located in the center of Chinatown. It was founded in 1827 and the oldest of Hindu temple in Singapore. Its tower entrance or gopuram will mesmerize everyone who saw it. The gopuram has six tiers full of sculptures and ornamentations in colors variety. 

6. Masjid Sultan. 
It is located at Muscat Street in the Kampong Glam district. It was built in 1824 and it is not changed until present day. Nowadays it becomes one of the most important mosques in Singapore. Its bright golden color of dome is the recognizable mark from this mosque. 

Leisure walks and sits back in modern place in Singapore.

It is the most famous and landmark of Singapore with its grand structure of Merlion. The Merlion statue is 8.6 metres tall and built in 1971. Usually every night at 8 PM there is laser show at Marina Bay Sands that you could see from Merlion Park. 

8. Esplanade 
Theaters on the Bay. Esplanade is located in Marina bay near Merlion Park. It is concert hall and art center. Sometimes it has free performance it could be musical concert or art exhibition. You’ll never miss Esplanade because it has unique design like a durian or the eyes of fly.
